Poems about a Brother

My brother has been my spar
Sparring right through life;
We've been in competition
Right up till I got my wife.

He laid claim once before
Leave alone she's come to me;
The run around that was given
I couldn't even see.

Many times we've fought and drawn
It's been my parents aim;
To equalize us forever and then
To get us back together again.

My brother gave me a gift
So rare and brave to share;
To part with a kidney
Not sure if I would dare.

Those two words Thank You
That mean so very much;
I need a way to say them
As my very heart he's touched.

He's had to suffer too
Going under the surgeons knife;
All his family have as well
Especially his wife.

Thank you very much
Once again thanks for all your love;
You are my one true brother
God sent me from up above.

In times gone by I've hated you
So mad with you I've felt;
Even glad when you're in trouble
Threatened with the belt.

But I've since discovered that
That's not real at all;
I do care and I love you
Thought I'd better tell you that's all!

Thank You for your memory
Taking me back down dark long lanes;
To speed up my recovery
And my marbles to regain.

They're the only ones
You'll let me have back;
As champion that you once were
Marbling skills I did lack.

My new bike all polished
Standing there in cream;
Till you backed up over it
Gone, gone was my dream.

You knew really though
That hadn't been the one;
You took me to the shops
To buy a different one.

Your diplomacy will stand
You in good stead all times;
As neither Mom nor Dad
Had the slightest incline.

As for brothers when it comes to mine
They drive me round the bend;
They took my dolls heads off once
And couldn't get them on again.

That took a lot of getting used too
They're always up to mischief;
Some of the other things as well
Truly they beggar belief.

No matter how old or young
No matter how large or how small;
Your family when it comes down to it
Nothing else matters at all
