Parents Thank You Poems

****

Mom, Mum and Dad

As I look back on my life
I find myself wondering...
Did I remember to thank you
for all that you have done for me?

For all of the times you were by my side
to help me celebrate my successes
and accept my defeats?

Or for teaching me the value of hard work,
good judgement, courage, and honesty?

I wonder if I've ever thanked you
for the simple things...
The laughter, smiles, and quiet times we've shared?

If I have forgotten to express my gratitude
For any of these things,
I am thanking you now...
and I am hoping that you've known all along,
how very much you are loved and appreciated

It's been a long time now
Since you first held me;
You've been so wonderful
How can I ever thank thee.

I promise I will do my best
To be the person that you wish;
So that you'll be proud
Of all that I accomplish.

I thank you for your love
Your patience and your time;
You never stopped loving me
Even when I whined.

You are the very best parents
Anyone could ever hope to have;
I will always be so proud
To have parents about whom I can rave.

You gave me life, you gave me love
You gave me all I need;
Respect and honesty you gave
That's the best for me indeed.

This helped me grow straight and true
As all men should I know;
It's a privilege for me to be
Your son, proof to you I'll show.

My family will be like yours
Hardworking through and through;
But most of all at the very top
Is full of love like you.

Parenting is a skill
Not one taught in schools;
If it were you'd be top
You're also very cool.

You've always told me everything
Explained when it's not clear;
I've been secure because of that
Full of confidence and no fear.

Thanking you for this
Would be my dearest wish;
Words can never say enough
But my childhood I do cherish
Thank You

I can't believe how long it's been
You've carried me for years;
No wonder when I received my prize
You were very close to tears.

I know it's pride with some relief
The tears have taken their toll;
I'm now fully qualified
The future we can stroll.

To show my thanks I have now booked
A holiday for two;
All expenses paid upfront
Thank You Mom and Dad - it's all THANKS to you.
