Please accept this small token
In grateful thanks for your deed;
I'm eternally in your book of debts
The favour to return, if ever you're in need.

Such support, an aide, a crutch
A friend, not just in fair weather but foul
And I'm grateful ever so much.

The difference you have made
Has been a miracle for sure;
I hope you like this gift
Small but full of love and more.

When you are feeling sick, or worse,
Thank your dear Maker for your nurse
Whose tender care and ministrations
Are worth sincere congratulations.

The shattered limb, the fevered brow
Are much the same to her somehow.
There is a need, a chance to heal,
To ease the pain that you might feel.

Through all those precious smiles
And words of comfort, as she tends
With all her sharpened skills and guiles
Without complaint, she mends.

Then there comes the day
When you are sent upon your way
-- and you discover, in the end,
That you have had a pleasant visit
With a very special friend.

I can't believe how long it's been
You've carried me for years;
No wonder when I received my prize
You were very close to tears.

I know it's pride with some relief
The years have taken their toll;
I'm now full qualified
The future we can stroll.

To show my thanks I have now booked
A holiday for two;
All expenses paid upfront
Thank You Mom and Dad - it's all THANKS to you!
